The woods are lovely dark and deep.

My spirits are going way down as the hours for natural light continues to shrink. My only consolation is that thus far, it has been a fairly dry autumn.

The end is in sight though, and I shall soon escape again from all of this.

Going trick or treating at our age is absolutely pathetic. I hate anyone doing that and imagining it'll be a good time.

ISLAND MURDER MYSTERY

MAIN CHARACTER IS DISORIENTATED, MISSING MEMORY.

A DETECTIVE CHARACTER COMES UP, QUESTIONS HIS WHEREABOUTS.

MAN CAN'T REMEMBER, CLAIMS INNOCENCE. HE SELF DOUBTS.

DETECTIVE GOES ON TO QUESTION THE WIDOW. HE TAKES MAIN CHARACTER WITH HIM.


SHOCKING: THE LAND SURROUNDING THE MANSION SPLIT AWAY FROM THE REST, FORMING AN ISLAND WHICH IS MOVING AT AN INCREASING SPEED.

ONCE THIS HAPPENS, THE MAIN CHARACTER REALIZES HE IS THE MURDERER. HE TRIES HUNTING DOWN THE DETECTIVE AND THE WIDOW BEFORE THE ISLAND 'DOCKS'


AND THEN ZOMBIES SHOW UP, ONLY THEY AREN'T REALLY ZOMBIES.

THEY'RE PEOPLE FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION.

Sounds like a great story idea to me.

No Aliens.

I'm somewhat disappointed that the aliens failed to show up. The rational part of me knows that Aliens won't arrive, especially not in a 2000 mile long ship over the skies of Alabama. I was just hoping in the deepest darkest part of me that it would turn out to be real. It would be super awesome if true.

It would be the first collective undeniable proof that everyone's problems are trivial.
Wars would stop. Religion becomes trivial. Maybe people will finally start helping other people in a semi-unrealistic-utopian state.

The aliens could tell us why we are here. Maybe they have some secret knowledge on science and philosophy.

I hate answering the home phone.

They're either looking for my mom or my dad.

When I answer it, neither of them are home.
Person on the other end is always... "Hello, is Sam home?"
and I go "Nope. He's away, can I take a message."

And then they go "Oh. Is that you, Mrs. Womg."

And then I have to deepen my voice and say "No."

So apparently my voice tone raises whenever I try to speak moonspeak.

October 14, 2008. The day of the First Contact.

... that's when they're supposed to make first contact.

Some say they're already here, either in orbit, or already landed.
If they were, going into geosynchronous orbit over the arctic would be the perfect place to hide... Kind of like here.

I don't know how I'd feel if this is true.


Economic Ramifications?
How would it affect the economy? Would there be an immediate drop? Rise?

Political Ramifications? Would wars suddenly stop? Countries unite?

Religious Ramifications?
Would various churches try to retcon their beliefs to include potential aliens?
Would people claim that this is the End of Days and the mass becomes super religious?

Assuming that these Aliens just want to make themselves known, and after three days they'll leave... I don't think life will really change at least immediately. I have to really think about this.

First Midterm

The class is Engineering Economics and I thought it went well.
Other people had problems with time and were unable to finish. I didn't have this problem.

I did very, very little studying. I shall see the results of the midterm before I go into it.

Dentists

I've always had a fear of Dentists and their sadistic methods.

One of my first run-ins with a Dentist is one my my parent's friend from China.
He operated an illegal Dentistry practice inside of his apartment. We'd visit their family frequently and I got to hang around and play with the tools. Anyway, even though they were friends from the old country, they and my parents were fiercely competitive. They had two daughters and one son. We had three and one. Everytime an exam is taken, they'd do their exchange of their children's scores. I had been taught to not like them, but respect them.

When I came to Canada, I was bombarded by television shows saying that Dentists are pure evil. You know how they dramatize a kid going to the Dentist? They're all nervous before going, and then they show the scary tools?

I think the purpose of those shows was to ease the fears of the child, but it apparently didn't work for me. I developed an even greater fear of dentists.

Eventually, I was forced by circumstances to visit one. It turns out that dentists are not complete monsters. Yeah, doing whatever hurts, but it didn't hurt that much. I mostly find the procedure to be tediously long

Today, I'm going to have two of my wisdom teeth removed. I don't know how much pain it'll be. I'm not sure if I can eat properly for a while. Writing this post hasn't really helped me calm down.
