hey arman, i donno about this but isn't it better to have ram running at the same frequency as your processor? is there a performance boost with a 1gig 667MHz over 2gig of 533Mhz ram?

Yep, you don't want your processor to have to 'wait' for the RAM.

the question is...what is better in the long run...i think 1 gig of 667Mhz of ram is better than 2 gigs for most of the time since it won't bottleneck the performance since you don't need the other gig of ram for most of the time. 2 gigs is nice to have but I am still not convince that it will be better than a more suitable ram. but i guess it all comes done to the price...how much is 1gig of 667Mhz of ram at dell anyway compared to 2 gigs of the slower ram?

Well, Vista Home Premium recommends 1GB of ram anyways, so having 2GB is better in this situation. However, if we weren't using the other 1GB of the ram, having the 667Mhz one would be more suitable.
