Anyone who has ever had a Myspace account is obviously a retard. I mean, why would anyone use such an ugly interface? No one cares about your stupid music. Nobody.

Stop whining about the snow.
I have to say that the drive to UBC, especially on the Marine Drive, was absolutely stunning. If I could take a picture while driving, I would do it. There's something incredibly beautiful about the pristine, undisturbed snow lining the treetops and the ground. I just wanted to say Wow!
Walking at UBC is an entirely different matter. I fell on my ass once already, and it isn't pleasant. The slush from the pressures of the cars have turned into ice overnight. In fact, when you combine the awkward slopes of the land with the iced up paths, it is expected that one would fall.
And why is there snow outside right now? Why is it snowing again? I thought it wasn't going to snow this day at all. I thought it wasn't going to snow yesterday.
Breh!

My Windows! They're frozen!
No, I'm not talking about my operating system, I'm talking about my actual windows in my bathroom. It is one of those sliding windows, which I really enjoy. It is big enough to climb out (and apparently inside, this is a security flaw and I shouldn't be talking about it at all.) and I sometimes do do that. Now, they're frozen. I can't open it. Around the edges are a layer of ice, which means that some water somehow got inside (or was trying to get out of my shower.) Yeah. This whole "cold" business is overrated. I hope they update it to a warmer climate soon.
Well, that's a good three hours wasted.
I really should have listened to the radio or something before I left for school today. We usually listen to mp3s on the iPod, but my sister insisted that she had no distraction. That's why we went to UBC all ghostly and empty. Yes, it turns out that there's no power at UBC, which meant that most of the facilities at UBC are rendered useless. This included my sister's man-buddy whose car was trapped behind a giant metal gate. We saw a couple of broken trees along the Marine Drive, which is pretty neat.
Overall, I don't like the snow. I still don't like the snow. And I really don't like the snow.
I don't know what's gonna happen with the classes and the teaching and stuff. This sucks.

Ugh.
The snow is absolutely disgusting. I've always been a fan of not liking snow, and now it just confirms it. I want it all gone. I want it to be warm again. I really hate to do my finals with weather like this.

I <3 John Carpenter
His movies are just magical. From Escape to The Thing, they're all super awesome. I just finished watching The Thing again, and... Wow. I highly recommend this film to everyone.
Its snowing! Hurrah!
Not really. I don't like snow much at all - much too wet and cold. I just want to mark this date as the first day in my town this fiscal year to snow.
Ugh, the next week is going to be tough, but I'll make it somehow.

Training my left hand.
I've been training with my left hand - I think I'm getting better. I have better control of my muscles and everything. Sometimes its hard to do the little twists and drags, but the final result is satisfying to say the least. It is my hope that I can become Ambidextrous, and Elite Beat Agents is somewhat helping me with the goal. Speaking of that, the "Hard Rock" difficulty is indeed hard.

Lawl, Gladys.
I'm not sick. I'm just not feeling well.
I had this incredible idea of which I was going to discuss, but I can't remember it. I can't remember it at all. That annoys me.
The truth is that the next two weeks is going to be very busy. I'm not saying that I can't take maybe five minutes of my day to create something completely stupid on my blog, because I waste enough time doing other things too. In two weeks, I have the first four midterms... one after another. I'll have four more days before another three midterms.
You know, just really busy.
I'm still trying to get a Wii, and with Joe's help, I might be getting one tomorrow. I know, study, etc.
21 November 2006
Sears suck.
Apparently, they have deemed that they won't be getting enough units of Wii, so they just cancelled all of the orders. I'm not angry about that part. I understand that if they can't meet the demand that they should do something like this. The problem is that they didn't tell the customers why.
I had to find out on a forum post which was complaining about this.
That's not good at all.
On an unrelated note, the Xbox 360 is shipping next week, for sure.

What the fuck?
My sears order from Sears.com has disappeared from their list.
Furthermore, the Nintendo Wii doesn't seem to be on their site anymore.
I don't know what this means at all. I'll have to make a call later tonight.

Wii failed.
So, I followed my plan.
Four twenty. Arrived at Four Forty. There was 57 units available at Best Buy. There were about 60 people from what I could see and county.
Four Forty-Two. Wii arrived at Futureshop. There must have been 80 people there. There wasn't a notice posted up, so Wii didn't bother.
Four Forty-Five. We went to Superstore. Fifteen units available. Apparently, there's fifteen people there already because the guy at the front said its all been accounted for. I didn't see fifteen, but I'm assuming some of them went away. (Washroom? Food?)
I came home. Went online. Went to Sears.ca, and bought the Wii. There's still stock right now.
The moral of the story is don't try.

Wow. I coincidentally predicted the PS3 price.
Look at the Sony tag at the bottom here, and go to the first post in March 2006. If you're lazy like me, this is what I wrote:
Anyways, he was giving away a single PS3 preorder of somesort. Valued at 600$.
This was from March, which is two months before the price announcement at E3. Dreams are fun. Too bad I don't have enough time to go through all of my dreams.
Wii Launch Day.
Tomorrow is the Wii official launch day. I will have woken up at 4:20am-ish (Can't resist the good ol' 420) and will have been in line since (or will-since) 4:45amish. I will hopefully have been going to have taken a Wii as one of the have-been-hopefully-forty-gone people, but this doesn't bode well. My guess had been that there would not have been many has-beens-going-ers since midnight last night until the my would-have-gone-time, so that's all swell.
Seriously, what's with the pseudo-tenses here? It is highly annoying.
Seriously, what's with the pseudo-tenses here? It is highly annoying.
It has begun. The fall of the PS3.
As I've said before, my theory is that at least half of the buyers of PS3 (in lines) are selling the system back. Now, the PS3s are getting sold for around $1000 - 60gigs with an extra game, usually.
The fact is that there was 10k systems being sold this morning, which means at least 3% were selling their systems already. Wow.

Wii Wii Wii
So, on my way to buy Elite Beat Agents from FutureShop for 29.99, I took the opportunity to ask for some Wii Information
Best Buy - Opens at 8:00am on Sunday. No idea of the quantity available. They said at least as much as the PS3, which is about 20 units They told me to call on Sunday to check.
Future Shop - Opens at 10:00am on Sunday. Lansdowne apparently has at least fifty units available. Bridgeport has at least 20 units available.
Zellers - They don't know how many will be available, but they will go to the pre-sale first. They aren't sure if they can cover it. Zellers opens at 11:00am.
Toys R Us- Opens at 11:00am. Don't even bother. They are only selling the console as a bundle of two games + a controller for ~500 dollars (That's what the guy said.)
Superstore - Opens at 9:00am. They did not have a phone available for calling. Hmph.
My best bet is to go to Lansdowne (~6:00am?) and see if there are people lining up at Best Buy. If yes, go to Futureshop?

Rain causes Havok.
I love the rain. I think I've said this numerous times if not on the blog, in real life. What I cannot stand is the puddles left by the rain. They are just plain disruptive when I have to make a trek across campus to my classes.
Here's a tip for you, UBC. Make better drainage system. It isn't hard to make a hole in the ground that leads to a sewer, right? right? Next time you expand the campus, make sure that the paths are slightly slanted at the sides so that the water FLOWS OUT and not leave a huge puddle.
On my way home, I saw that once again the Number 4 Road + Alderbridge and Number 4 Road + Westminster Highway 's traffic lights were down. Twice in a month? Good job, municipality. I didn't know I am living in Baghdad.

I have made a huge mistake.
Since Sunday night, I have been franticly lost with regards to my mobile phone. I thought I left it inside the sanctity of my church. I'll get it back on Monday. No big deal, right?
Wrong.
Oh wait, it was right. I took a look at my church's website and it said that there should be a choir meeting at 7:00pm. That's when I was going to make my move.
Bam. There was nobody home. I had a sneaking suspicion that it was a choir meeting at a home instead of the church, and my visit to the empty parking lot (save for one strange SUV with its lights on) Yes, so Tuesday was going to be the day of action. By this time, my mobile had run out of its battery power, so that was not going to help. Because I have morning classes all days of the work-week, I was unable to visit my lovely place of worship during the day time. In my stead, my parents (namely mother) went to the church establishment to look for my phone for me. She returned dismayed at the lack of the mobile.
Now, it was an experience this morning which allowed me to retrieve my phone. As I was briskly making a walk towards my first class of the day, I came to the stunning conclusion that I had not brought my wallet with me. Why wouldn't I bring it, I asked myself. I don't remember not bringing it. I did not make a conscious decision to not bring my wallet. Where was my wallet?
I faithfully made a trek to the car, which was the most probable location of my beloved wallet. The door opened, and there laid my forgotten and unloved wallet. Within the gutters of the car, between the seat and the door, laid my wallet. It had fallen down the crevice like a blind, mute child who was unable to cry for help. It was only when the parent was kilometers away that he realized that someone was not annoying him, bothering him, or making him plain old angry.
I was that parent. It was me. That's when I had an inkling of an idea of what happened to my mobile. It was also in the gutter of another car, forgotten and unloved.
Wrong.

Remembrance Day.
I'm a firm believer in not-killing-people, so I don't know if I should be happy for the guys who died in the World Wars protecting Canada and the like. The fact is that most of these guys are dead, so who really cares? In another twenty or so years, they'd be all dead. It'd be like celebrating Columbus Day, or something ridiculous which has lost its meaning. Well, sure, these dead guys totally "shaped" the way this nation became for which I'm glad, but I was born a good forty years afterwards. Why am I not being thankful for the Seven Year War, or the Opium Wars, or the Crusades, or whatever? Surely those influenced the course of history too!
Remembrance Day is retarded.
PS: I fixed the double postings which may have been created because there was a delay in posting the posts. Est. I'm now using the blogger beta, which is looking nice.

In that sleep of death...
I think I found the cause of my night-terrors, or whatever they call the feeling where you're in bed paralyzed.
Blood Circulation.
When I'm sleeping, I think that I sleep in a way that is not comfortable for my body.
I came to this stunning conclusion when I laid one of those jumbo pillows on top of my ankle. In like fifteen minutes, I fell into a dream-like state, only that it was the worst dream I've ever had. I couldn't move. You know, right now I feel like I wrote about this before, so I'm going to stop.

Win a PS3 Now.
My goal now is to try to win a PS3 from the Coke Contest.
This is the part of me that's proud of two corporations duking it out for the love of the people. I still won't love either of the companies, but I don't mind the free stuff.
So, this contest apparently gives away one PS3 per day at a randomly drawn time. The closest to the time of entry wins.
Register at ->http://www.icoke.ca/npn/start.do
Free code -> http://www.icoke.ca/npn, you can get unlimited codes per day, but can only enter 10 codes per day per account. Since the contest ends in like 36 days, you won't need more than 360 codes per account.
Answers to the questions -> http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4103028&postcount=354
Oh, and you can't legally play for someone else, but you can kind of fudge it, if you know what I mean. (You can have more than one account per family)
Scratch that, it isn't worth it.
The odds of winning is so blazingly low that I don't think it is worth even trying.
GG coke, I hate you now.
I still don't hate Pepsi though, so I guess your marketing plan failed completely.

Intelligent and Articulate.
That's what my mock interviewer lady person used to describe me.
I wonder why she would use such a bold-face lie, right to my face. That bitch.
Oh, and even though my interview went super smoothly, I was pwned by an uber difficult mech exam. My last midterm was 16.5/20, this one I don't think I passed at all.

Arman sucks. I hate him.
Anyone who blogs is an idiot, and any reader of blog is doubly so.
This guy is the worst guy ever. I mean, why does he think he is important enough to read? He sure ain't! That goes for 99.9% of the bloggers.
Seriously. If he wasn't so busy, he'd have won an Xbox 360 already... with Forza as a bonus free game. And he'd get the system in 7-8 weeks... and if he won right on the start date of the contest, he'd still not have received it yet because they still haven't shipped.
Oh, on non-related note, I checked out the gmail mobile beta. It is pretty sweet. The totally not sweet part is the 3cent/Kilobyte cost, which is painfully expensive.
I think this is the perfect opportunity.
I want to see how long it takes for information to propagate through my life when the information is only on my blog.
So far, one person has read or talked to me about it, so that's pretty neat.
Good on you!
Now, there might not be a short story posted on this wednesday, because I'm trying to feel out the rest of the story. It is getting expanded and will have more meaning padded inside, hopefully.

So, since I won, I encourage EVERYONE else to participate as well, because this contest is very possible.
This is making my day super awesome.
There's one little worry though, I'm afraid that Pepsi might have some kind of Draconian verification check where they say that hard-working people are bots or some other nonsense. I just want to say that everything I did is within the contest rules, so shouldn't come across any problems.

Even worst, my phone line is dead, again.
The problem miraculously solved itself this morning, but its back now. I don't even know what it can be. Hopefully it will once again deal with itself tomorrow so I don't have to go without a land line.
By the way, I am absolutely loving Firefox 2.0's spell check feature. This means that there is no way I can make idiotic spelling mistakes ever again! Wrong words perhaps, but definitely not a spelling error.

Phone? Gone. Internet? Slow.
I think there is some sort of internet crisis out there, I mean look at all the freaky things that are happening.
My phone line went dead. Telus says that there have been many cases of problems recently.
Streetlights (from yesterday) were gone.
Weird.
Richmond is, like, suffering from some kind of electrical hoodoo.

They're giving away Xbox 360, HD Tv, Monitors, etc.

One prize per household limited, so you can run multiple accounts in one house, but can only win one prize total per house.
Get your friend's information and you can possibly win more.
To get a code, go to http://wineveryhour.ca/NPN.asp?l=e . You can do this once per hour per account.
Yeah, you can enter for the future now, so that's pretty neat. That also screws up the timezone-advantage.
There are about 2500 entries every hour, so that's pretty cool. If you enter at any give hour, you have a non-impossible chance to win. If you double save it all for a shot, you can probably have a 1-2% chance to win (over multiple accounts). You know.
The Playstation 3.
It seems to me that after the success of the Xbox 360 pre-orders has driven most of the gaming communities mad for a quick buck.
I think at least HALF of the buyers (certainly for the pre-orders) bought one just to sell. This leads me to wonder if anyone will want to actually pay 599 US dollars for a console, I mean... There will be like ten thousand PS3s on Ebay. How will this affect the prices? What does this say about the demand?
This does not bode good for the Sony.

gg indeed.
I hate my schedule. Really. My final midterm mark came in, and it was below expected. Ten percent higher than class average, but still.
As I was driving home from school, I noticed that the Oak bridge's lights were out. In fact, the highway was completely dark. Cambie road was also dark. The traffic light 'robot' was off, so there was a little thing with four-way stop. That was neat.
And I still don't know what a flashing yellow light is supposed to mean.

Jason Powar, who is he? What is he? What did he do to deserve death?
Jason Powar is a person of many different talents and abilities. I can admire his enthusiasm towards helping his family out. I guess he is just one of those guys that you have to know in order to appreciate, because I don't see anything in him that others lack. He seems to have made a lot of friends, which is good for him too.
The problem is that I never knew the guy, and it makes me feel like an insensitive jerk when I hear about how 'tragic' his death is. People die all the time, stop making such a big deal. A scholarship in his honour? What did he do, donate his kidneys? (Was he an organ donor? If not... Bastard!)
I guess this is the closest thing to death I've been, and its extremely disappointing and underwhelming. I hope no one around me (whom I don't know) dies because I don't want to go through this pathetic rollercoasting of crap.
Oh, and I don't hate Jason Powar, contrary to what I posted before. I do, however, hate the fact his death is making people have to fake their outward emotion to fit the occasion, you know? Damn them fakers.
You can call this jealousy, but it isn't. I, for one, don't plan to die.
I dislike Halloween.
I hate the stupid little kids begging for candy. I mean, I know its a tradition, but you aren't doing anything for me to earn that candy. I believe that if you want my candy, you should do something or show me something that I haven't seen before. Stupid Vampire fangs are just stupid and cliched. Witches? What is this, the 16th Century?
I didn't expect... the Spanish Inquisition!
