I woke up to this weird and strangely scary dream this morning.
There was a government medical program in which they take your eyeballs out, leaving two empty sockets. They promised to give them back after they do some enhancements, leaving you temporarily blind. The reason for they're doing this is research in the field of vision, or more precisely they were developing ways to enhance vision or give it to people who are naturally blind. Naturally blind people might have a different sense of sight when they've been blind all of their lives, and suddenly gain back their vision. Therefore, a person which used to have sight is needed in order to have objective answers.
I was one of the people selected (mandatory, I think.) and had my eyes taken out. The dream felt really weird because I could still "see", except things were horribly wrong. It was like I was moving inside of memory. I could tell where things are statically. For example, I could navigate my own room because I know in my mind where the bed and the alarm clock was, but I couldn't read the time because that is dynamic. Likewise, things are blurry if I have no previous knowledge of what it is. If someone moved a chair in front of me, I wouldn't know until I felt it. If It was someone who was talking, I'd get this blurry sense of where the person was. When I look at a person who was talking, I could see that they had two mouths, one below the nose, and one above. That's the weirdest thing, and I guess it makes sense in the most bizarre kind of way. Sight is replaced with Sound.
I just realised that I was sitting in the exact same classroom at the exact same computer for a class in my dream. That was creepy. Anyway, people were asking me what happened, and I reluctantly answered. I noticed that there were other people in the same condition as me. Eventually though, I began to see active movements and people again, without my eyes. It was a gimped form of vision, but I could still see in real time. Normal people were freaked out.
The end.
